July Message from Wor Master of Lodge West Epping

Greetings Brethren

It’s been a good month.

At our June meeting, we had an interesting interview with one of the senior members of our Lodge, VW Bro Doug Jeffery and some fun with some quizzes after some short, but great, classic comedy videos.

Last Friday, we had dinner with our wives at Rawson’s Restaurant in Epping. A very relaxed and friendly evening. Many thanks to W Bro Bauchop for organising it.

At our next meeting, we will Raise Bro Stewart to the Third Degree. Scott has been a great Candidate in prior degrees has proficiently presented the First Working Tools and is a regular attendee and participant at our meetings. I am looking forward to this wonderful task, ably assisted by a number of seasoned veterans of our Lodge.

We are fortunate to have a number of younger Masons in our Lodge, who are enthusiastic to learn and participate. We may soon have only Master Masons in our progressive offices. I am so encouraged by all of this.

We have one or two members who are unwell at present and they have been noted in our meetings. On behalf of the Lodge, I wish them a swift and ongoing improvement in their health.
We miss them from our meetings.

Our District runs barbeques at Bunnings several times throughout the year. They always need help to man them, especially from those who can correctly place the onions under the sausages, not on top of them.  I have helped at one or two, and the ability to mix with other Masons, of various ages and the Masonic experience was terrific. Apart from enjoying the fellowship, helping at these BBQs provides direct financial input to the charities we choose to support as a Lodge.

If you can help at a BBQ, please contact VW Bro Ken Byrnes.

The next BBQs are:

 Sat, 6th July - Bunnings Castle Hill
 Sun, 21st July - Bunnings Northmead
 Sun, 11th August - Bunnings Northmead

On a final note, Brethren, I leave you with a quote:

“Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”

Mother Theresa.

Until our next happy meeting.

Garry Barker WM
